Offshore / Hydrographic Surveyor

TMT is seeking a proactive all-rounder to join our small but dynamic survey department for onshore and offshore based work. The role will be diverse with an interesting workload. The candidate will be involved in project preparation and close out, as well as offshore stints.

 

Essential Requirements:

 

· Relevant tertiary qualification;

· Minimum of 5 years experience, preferably in a variety of survey types - from positioning and construction to metrology and pipeline inspection.

 

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

 

· Dynamic attitude;

· Innovative approach to survey techniques and technology;

· Proficient in use of computers and computer networking with an interest in technology and software (Qinsy in our survey software of choice, but other software may also be used);

· Experience in mobilising vessels of opportunity;

· Hands on technical skills;

· Experience in data processing.

 

This position is offered on a full-time, fixed term basis for 6 month. There is potential for contract extension and the possibility of a permanent position for the right candidate

Hydraulic Technician

Essential Requirements:

 

· Trade qualification in mechanical fitting

· Experience working with hydraulics:

 

· Experience with flushing, pressure testing, and function testing of hydraulic systems;

· Experience with the operation and maintenance of air-driven tools, pumps and motors;

· Experience with maintenance and troubleshooting of hydraulic systems including fittings, hoses, valves, regulators, and other components;

· Experience with the operation and maintenance of subsea oil and gas equipment, including HPUs, umbilicals, and accumulators.

 

· Commitment to safety with an understanding of industry-standard safety protocols

 

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

 

· Certificate IV in Fluid Power

· Experience in offshore oil and gas

· Current forklift licence

· Current Work Safely at Heights training

Mechanical Design Engineer

We have an opportunity to join our team in the role of Mechanical Design Engineer. The position is offered on a full-time, 6 month fixed-term basis.

Your main responsibilities in this role will include: 

  • Fastening, stress, thermal, and fatigue analysis calculations;
  • FEA and hand calculations in MathCAD;
  • Design of frames, pressure vessels, mechanisms.

Essential Skills and Experience: 

  • Bachelor of Science in mechanical/structural/marine engineering discipline;
  • 3+ years of design experience;
  • SolidWorks experience (at least a medium level of knowledge and proficiency);
  • Knowledge and design experience of hydraulic systems;
  • Awareness of AS, DNV, API, and ISO drawing standards.

The job holder must be flexible to travel and assist with offshore assignments as required.

Technical Writer

We have an opportunity to join our team in the role of Technical Writer. The position is offered on a full-time, 6 month fixed-term basis.

Your main responsibilities in this role will include: 

  • Working with engineers to develop equipment specification, operating, and maintenance manuals for remotely operated vehicles and intervention tooling;
  • Completing product flyers and other published material;
  • Reviewing published material and recommending revisions or changes to the scope, format, content, or method of production;
  • Management of all promotional material;
  • Researching, writing, and publishing corporate communications on a regular basis;
  • Ensuring all communications are of the highest standard of grammar and spelling and consistent with the company's brand strategy and style guides.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Technical Writer;
  • Experience in a technical subject, such as electrical/mechanical trade, or engineering;
  • Exposure to the engineering environment;
  • Experience with putting e-learning training packages together based on manuals and specification sheets;
  • Advanced computer skills and literacy with respect to MS Office and Adobe products; 
  • Knowledge of technical writing principles and ability to work with document templates; 
  • Excellent written communication skills in English;
  • High attention to detail.

Web administrator experience would be beneficial.
