Operations Support Specialist
Due to the recent award of long term contracts, TMT is currently looking for an Operations Support Specialist to join our Operations Department in supporting our offshore based work and projects, in a technical capacity. This role is offered on a full time, permanent basis.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Handling technical enquiries from various stakeholders (including clients) about TMT's ROV/tooling systems
  • Ensuring testing of relevant offshore equipment is compliant with company and client procedures
  • Preparing, managing and updating maintenance procedures
  • Conducting onsite audits of ROV systems
  • Assisting the Operations Manager with mobilisation/demobilisation of ROV/tooling equipment


Essential Requirements:

  • Trade qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in Engineering for the Subsea Industry, along with proven experience working with ROVs and tooling packs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and scheduling the purchase and supply of electronic/electrical components
  • Raising Purchase Orders in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Managing and expediting Purchase Orders to the point of delivery

Work involves engineering, customising and preparing our field proven Light Well Intervention spread for various campaigns, and then going offshore to manage and operate the equipment.

Hydraulics/Pressure Vessel Engineer

The need: 

Total Marine Technology, as an Approved Subcontractor, is part of the team designing and building the next generation of Submarine Rescue Service for the Commonwealth of Australia supporting the Royal Australian Navy.  
Therefore, we are currently seeking an experienced Hydraulics/Pressure Vessel Engineer. 
The position is offered on a full-time, permanent or 12-month fixed term basis to the right candidate with minimum PR visa who are also eligible for Australian citizenship. 


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Undertake hydraulics design and analysis of machines primarily used subsea 
  • Selection and/or design of hydraulics components 
  • Pressure vessel calculations (internal or external, static, dynamic, fatigue), FEA or hand calculations 
  • Drafting of assemblies 
  • Drawing of hydraulic schematics 
  • Detailed design of subsea tooling hydraulics and/or ROV, LWI related hydraulic systems 
  • Writing work instructions and procedures and liaising with technical writer 
  • Reporting to project lead, liaising with peer engineers in design 
  • Occasional offshore work 

What you will bring: 

  • Bachelor or Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering discipline 
  • 3+ years of hydraulics design experience 
  • The ‘spark’ of creativity coupled with resourcefulness 
  • Solid understanding of GD&T 
  • High attention to details and understanding how system components interface and interact 
  • Proficient user of 3D CAD package(s), ideally SolidWorks 
  • Proficient user of 2D CAD package such as AutoCAD/HyDraw 
  • Understanding and solid knowledge of BPVCs such as ASME Section VIII including stress linearization 
  • Awareness of AS, DNV, API and ISO drawing standards 
  • Strong Communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities at a time 
  • Perseverant and conscientious mind 
  • Ideally subsea design experience is preferred
